Read our interview with Amanda Sweet, the creator behind Some Chick’s Art.
Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
I am a mixed media traditional artist with a background in graphic design. I specialize in watercolor, gouache and pastels. My love for nature and animals can be seen throughout my art. I design and create everything in my home art studio.

What is one of your best selling items?
One of my best sellers is a floral pastel print. The dreamy flow and bright colors really capture one’s eye.

What are you inspired by?
Animals and nature that I have encountered near home or from my travels.
What habit has helped you succeed?
Promote, promote, promote! Shout about your business everywhere! If no one knows about it, then it will get lost with all the other businesses out there.

How do you know when a piece of art is finished?
I normally don’t. I often change pieces even years later. Sometimes I just have to walk away from it. But normally if I don’t want to change it or ruin it, I step away from the piece and call it done.
Who is your role model?
My mom. She is an amazing artist and has always encouraged me to be an artist and follow my dreams.
